Freaks Arise is Still Alive!
Although we've taken some time off from shows, we haven't stopped working. We've been spending the last two months working hard on recording our 3rd CD, writing new songs, getting our NEW GUITARIST up to speed (and writing), and some other really exciting things. We'll be back out next month with the show you've been hearing us cry about and you should have been getting!

Freaks
Arise partners with Speakeasy to make one more hot spot!
There's nothing worse then
being asked to play a club then arriving to find no sound
man and with luck a pa system one step above a toy. Believe
me, we don't wast our time going back - it's obvious that
club doesn't really want to have bands play in their establishment.
One club that we were prepared not to play decided that
they are a club for live local music and they care about
their business and the bands that play: The Speakeasy Cafe
in Upper Darby, PA.
Rich from Freaks Arise recieved a phone call from the new
booking agent Salina. He informed her of the many things
that he would do to make the place better from asthetically
creating an atmosphere to getting a real sound system.
The club was so pleased with the recommendations that their
confidence in Rich evolved into letting Rich handle the
club's upgrade by purchasing new equipment, installing and
configuring until it was a place worthy of being played.
By the overwhelming and recurring response of the bands,
fans, and ourselves - I think we did it. Rich and his long
time producer and owner of Vicious Recording Rob Gandy
led the upgrade. The first two nights they also ran sound
for five bands and it was a real powerhouse rock show.
The club will continue to utilize Rich and Rob until they
find a permanent in-house soundman that knows his craft.
Check it out. It's a killer place now - but it's still getting
better. As more funds come through, more equipment will be
added.

New
Music, New Site!!
Well all of our shows have
been going great. The three piece thing has man more rewards
then imagined. One thing is that a lot of time it sounds
heavier then a four piece. There are less gtrs in the same
frequency range so we do not cancel or mudd eachother out.
We can also be more dynamic and organic.
The crowd and club was GREAT at The Pirate's Den!!! I never
saw so many people dancing and moving to the music. Maybe
they weren't up front - but it sure was killer to see the
whole place movin to all the new and old tunes.
We just recorded the click tracks for 11 new songs and are
working on finishing them asap. Also a new site design is
done and looks cool as shit. This should be up soon.
Thanks to everyone for keeping
us alive and making us feel good about trying to move you
with our tunes.

HOLY
SHIT WE ARE PLAYING!!
I'm flying here trying to
get ready for tonight's show and just wanted to thank everyone
ahead of time for coming out. We are performing as a three
piece - SCARY!! Weird though, with the three piece, we play
even louder and there's more dynamics. I just can't break
any strings.
We want to thank ENUOM
and all the guys over at http://www.beneaththesurface.net/
with deepest appreciation for remembering us and keeping
after us since we last played. They hooked us up with all
of our shows this month and I'm sure we will join forces
to finally make a dent in this part of the country.

NEW
SONGS KICK ASS!!
Ya know the first albums
were not made to win every single song as a radio hit. There
were several hits but then there were also deeper twisted
songs not ready for radio (thank god) but ready for respect
and big concerts. Well with our new material I think we
found a way to keep the depth yet each song can be a radio
hit. The diversity is still there and so is the edge. One
thing new is the sophistication from another year of writing
and studying many types of music. I learned from the great
Jimmy Page baby!! We're working hard on completing the new
album and will release some sessions soon on this site.
We are so freakin excited to play these songs for you. They
will not only move you but make you shake your head thinking
- DAMNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!

GUESS
WHAT ELSE?? WE HAVE A NEW BASS PLAYER!!
Our new member has quickly
become part of the family and is the tightest fit to date.
Evan Hersch jams the shit out of his guitar and feels every
note. Watching him groove around at rehearsal makes me very
anxious to stomp the stage with him live...which is coming
real soon again! He gets the best tone with a diversity
that definetly is a perfect match for our varied sound.
I'm sure you will all be as stoked as we are when you see
him live and hear him on our newest LP.
See you all soon!!

Rich Wood and Dave Perry (Hinge
frontman) has been working together on a possible supergroup.
They've been trying a "back and forth" performance
thing for all the Freaks Arise songs. They are also speaking
about immediately performing each others music live by sharing
eachothers' musicians on stage.
Dave actually performed with Rich, Ken and Tom a few years
ago in a succesful coverband. Since then they support each
other playing local shows with each other's bands.
"...Dave got us a show down Atlantic City , right on
the boardwalk at the Trump Taj Mahal. I don't think they
were ready for us. The music was crazy loud and hard while
Dave was asked to never come back after they finally got
him down from climbing on the 20 foot high sculptures. What
a great show!!"
